When you should Unfriend someone

31 Mar

I may want to “unfriend” or “disconnect” someone from my Facebook and LinkedIn pages. I use these reasons:

· They market too aggressively. Most of their posts have some marketing message and look like commercials. Unfriending these advertisers is too easy and appealing.

· They SPAM. I’ve seen messages promoting karaoke contests, bars, adult entertainment, seminars and training. These appeared on my wall and not in the ads column on the right border. I let people present three ads before unfriending them. Unfriending SPAMmers is too easy and appealing.

· They are political pundits. They preach their political beliefs. Maybe I agree with their views and maybe not. That is not the issue. The issue is that my social networking agenda does not include promoting someone else’s political views.
